Mutton pulusu ( Spicy Lamb Side dish)


Mutton pulusu is a south indian dish. If you have read my Rice appam recipe before you will know that I served mutton pulusu with the rice appam. This super spicy recipe blends well with the sweet coconut milk and appam to give amazing feeling to your taste buds. All you have to do is eat this mutton pulusu with the appam and occasionally sip a spoon full of coconut milk. Ready to enjoy foodies 🙂

Mutton Curry 2

Serves : 4      Prep Time: 30 mins                Cooking Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  1. Lamb- 1 kg
  2. Onion- 250 gm
  3. Salt- taste
  4. Turmeric powder- 1 spn
  5. Chili powder -4 spn
  6. ½ Coconut
  7. Poppy seeds- 50 gms
  8. Cinnamon – 2
  9. Clove -2
  10. Green cardamom – 2
  11. Ginger paste- 1 spn
  12. Garlic paste-1spn
  13. Oil- 100 ml

Procedure

  1. Marinate the lamb with curd for ½ hr
  2. Grate the coconut pulp
  3. Fry the grated coconut pulp and poppy seeds(slightly) separately without oil
  4. Heat oil in a cooker
  5. Add cardamom, clove and cinnamon
  6. Add chopped onions
  7. Stir till the onions are slightly brown
  8. Add ginger and garlic paste
  9. Add salt and turmeric powder and chilly powder
  10. Add the marinated lamb
  11. Add the fried coconut and poppy seeds
  12. Add a ½ cup water
  13. Stir for 10 minutes
  14. Add 2 cups of water
  15. Close the lid of the cooker and wait for 5 whistles
  16. The mutton pulusu is ready to serve with appam 🙂
